Our Current Work
Magis Consulting is a fast-growing consulting group specialising in gender education, leadership and social media literacy programs. We are a young company, but are quickly developing a strong presence with critical organisations in this new area of education.
Melinda, our Director and Founder, was as a teacher for almost three decades and is not only well experienced but is deeply passionate about supporting young people, particularly in social media literacy and safe online behaviours. Magis assists organisations to deliver gender, character and social-media education programs to their communities. We help to embed online cultures of respect, and assist in managing online incidents.

Swimming Victoria
'Exploring Modern Masculinity and Repairing Relationships'
We have been working with Swimming Victoria to assist with some gender and digital literacy education for some of their community members, and to establish 'Beyond the Pool', a leadership program for athletes.
Phase 1
Club Consultation
The consultation process began at club level, where the ideology of 'the black line' emerged as a metaphor for discipline, resilience and dedication. Using this analogy, the focus of the workshops was built using the culture and context of the clubs as a starting point.
Phase 2
Parent Consultation and Education Session
Next, parents were informed about the content and aims of the workshops, so that they could be aware of the requirements of the participants. Parents are a key part of the community that surrounds a young person and they are critical stakeholders.
Phase 3
Delivery of workshops and direct facilitation with community
Over the course of a number of sessions, Melinda worked directly with participants to articulate their values, to understand the impacts of modern masculinity and then a move towards repairing broken trust and relationships.
